I had this corrugated box lying with me and was in good condition. I have tried making a lamp out of it from the minimal material. This is a good time to engage yourself and kids in some DIY activity.
Before we start let's keep three things in mind:
- Be careful of sharp items. Please assist your kid while cutting and pasting
- Work where sunlight is adequate
- Have lots of fun :D
PUT ON SOME ROCK MUSIC & LET'S BEGIN..
I had this 3M's Scotch Brite packaging. First thing, check the dimension and ideate accordingly. The package was tall and sleek so, the first thing came to mind was a tall lamp.

Materials Required:
- Cutter
- Fevicol
- Scale
- Cutting Matt
- Scissors
- Socket
- Bulb
- Some thread to decorate
We will use corrugation to its full strength.
STEP -1
Sketch what you want to shape you want and leave some space on sides for structural integrity. Also, leave some space for the bulb and socket.

STEP -2
Cut the rectangle from the main board. Use the cut rectangle to further cut into horizontal pieces. Make sure you are exposing corrugation and check the directions.
STEP -3
Paste the pieces neatly to the entire length & let it dry for some time.
STEP - 4
Decorate it as you wish. I like to see corrugated material raw so I will use some threads.
STEP - 5
Add the bulb and socket inside.

Let the corrugation do its magic!
My initiative for this activity to increase the life of packaging. So, don't throw the packaging now, try and reuse/ repurpose it.
If you have any packaging and you don't know what to do, then leave a comment with a picture. If possible I will try and think for you :)
Stay creative, stay safe!
